Dixie C. Clay
Dixie Carol Clay, age 61, passed away peacefully at her home on June 18, 2012. Dixie was the oldest of three girls born to the late Raymond & Louise Sanders. She came into this world Feb. 13, 1951. She attended Lakeside School. She married the late Charles Joseph Henderson and became a loving, devoted, hardworking mother of two.
Dixie is preceded in death by her beloved son Charles "Joe" Henderson. She is survived by her spouse, Jerry Clay; her daughter and son-in-law, Nancy Henderson and James Hodges; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda and Jerry Godwin and Patti Gail and Donnie Jones; two grandchildren, Charles and Kimberly Henderson; one great-granddaughter, Abbigail Louise Scantling; one niece, Samantha Norwood and one nephew, Michael Scantling, all of Hot Springs; two stepdaughters, Lajuanna Clay-Briggs, of DeQueen and Mistie Arivett, of Langley; one stepson, Don Clay, of Hope; three stepgrandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Pam Edson and Shirley and Gary Hunt, of Atoka, Okla., along with many friends, loved ones and extended family.
Visitation was held Wednesday at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. today at Fourche Loupe Cemetery.
Pallbearers are James Hodges, TJ Tiernan, Jeffrey Hodges, Steve Batterton, Roger Erwin, and Danny Erwin. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Godwin, Donnie Jones and Gary Hunt.
