ARKADELPHIA – Iris E. Huckabee, age 89, of Arkadelphia, died Tuesday, July 17, 2012, in her home. She was born Aug. 4, 1922, in Cloud Chief, Okla., daughter of Arvell Andrew and Mary McDonald Eskew. She was a public school teacher for 36 years. Mr. and Mrs. Huckabee invested 73 years between the two of them in the Arkansas public school system. Mrs. Huckabee was a member of First Baptist Church in Arkadelphia and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include one son, Robert G. (Bob) Huckabee and wife, Debbie, of Terre Haute, Ind.; one granddaughter, Deanna Minnich and husband, Matt and great-grandson, Owen Minnich.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today in the Ruggles-Wilcox funeral chapel with Dr. Lee McGlone officiating.

Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Gardens.

Visitation was held Thursday at the funeral home.
