Rush Morrison
BISMARCK – Rush Morrison, age 85, of Bismarck, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2012, at Mercy Hospital Hot Springs. He was born Aug. 4, 1927, the son of Mack and Wilmer Phillips Morrison. Rush was a member of Masonic Lodge 338 and the Scottish Rite. He served in the Army’s 45th Infantry Division in the Korean War. He enjoyed drives in the mountains with his brother, Jim Bob, visiting with his morning coffee buddies, playing dominos with Charles and Gloria Phillips, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his four great-grandbabies. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by brother, H.K. “Pete” Morrison; sister, Delphia Danuser; twin sister, Ruth Fisher; and brother, Jim Bob Morrison.
Left to cherish his memory, wife, whom he married on Dec. 16, 1952, Jo Parker Morrison; sons, Tom and Lori Morrison, of Russellville and Rusty and Renee Morrison, of Bismarck; daughter, Susie and Mike Cash, of Bismarck; grandchildren, Mitzi and Kyle Overturf, Jessica and Brian Harris, Leanna and Lisa Morrison and Rachel Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Jackson and Sawyer Overturf, Savannah and Stetson Harris.
Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
A Masonic service will be 2 p.m. today at Regency Funeral Home with Chris Morrison officiating.
Interment will be at Big Creek Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Smith, Rick Smith, Bruce Thornton, Tyler Thornton, Dennis Thornton and Dickie Garrett.
Honorary pallbearers are the DJ’s “Coffee Club,” Charles Phillips and Roy Danuser. The family will be at Rusty and Reneé Morrison’s, 362 Fendley Road, Bismarck.
Arrangements are by Regency Funeral Home in Malvern.
