James A. Brown
James Allen Brown, 79, passed away Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, in Little Rock. He was born March 21, 1933, in Hot Springs, to the late Mary and Pete Brown. He graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1950, attended Henderson State Teachers College and graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville. He received his law degree from the University of Arkansas School of Law at Little Rock, a Masters’ Degree from Indiana University and attained his certification as a CPA. After Allen’s retirement as a Special Agent in the Criminal Investigation Division of the Internal Revenue Service, he opened his law office and practiced tax law for over twenty years.
Allen is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bernardine Glover Brown; son, Brian Allen Brown, of Little Rock; and daughter, Christy Brown Silva (and husband, Wilson), of The Woodlands, Texas; grandchildren, Morgan and Tyler Silva, and sister-in-law, Mildred L. Glover, of Little Rock.
Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery in Little Rock today at 9a.m., followed by a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, with Gary Hollingsworth officiating. Visitation will follow the service.
