A “Celebration of Life” for Gary Milton Wolfe will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Magnolia Room of the Arlington Resort Hotel & Spa.

Gary was born on April 7, 1948, in Memphis, Tenn., and passed away on Aug. 19, 2012, in the Philippine Islands on one of his many scuba diving adventures.

He grew up in Hot Springs, graduated from Hot Springs High School in 1966, and attended Henderson State, Southern State, and the University of Arkansas. He served as an ensign in the U.S. Navy.

He leaves behind a brother and sister-in-law, Roger and Peggy Wolfe, of Broken Arrow, Okla.; a sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and Bill Goodwin, of Orange Beach, Ala.; two nieces, Heather Wolfe Richard, of Watson, La., and Shawna Wolfe, of Bartlett, Tenn.; and a nephew, Todd Wolfe, of Tulsa, Okla., along with a host of great-nieces and great-nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, William Leo (longtime manager of the Majestic Hotel) and Pauline Wolfe.

A retired boat captain, Gary enjoyed life to the fullest. He worked and lived in cities throughout the United States and loved to travel to foreign lands and explore and discover new and various cultures. He backpacked across Europe and the Middle East, explored various portions of the continent of Africa, and later traveled throughout southeast Asia. Among his passions were sailing and scuba diving and at the time of his death, he was living on St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. Gary made friends everywhere he went and his love of life and for his family was unmatched. He is greatly missed by family and friends.

The family welcomes any and all who wish to celebrate Gary’s life to join them Saturday at the Arlington.
