MOUNT IDA – Henry Richard Carmack, age 70, of Mount Ida, died Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012.

He was born Jan. 11, 1942, at Oden, the son of Oscar Carmack and Lessie Jackson Carmack. On June 27, 1969, he was married to Linda Vines. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Monroe Carmack, O.C. Carmack, L.D. Carmack and Jerry Morgan.

He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and attended Faith Tabernacle in Mount Ida.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Carmack, of Mount Ida; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Eric Elder, of Oden and Tisha Carmack Caldwell, of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Tyler Caldwell, Hailee Elder and Haizen Elder; one brother, Gary Morgan, of Oklahoma and one sister-in-law, Jo Ellen Carmack, of Pencil Bluff.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Faith Tabernacle in Mount Ida with Brother Paul Burke officiating.

Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Gaston Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
