Velma O. Easterling
CROSSETT – Velma Odle Easterling, age 94, of Crossett, passed away on Nov. 11, 2012, at Pinewood Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on Sept. 8, 1918, in Blocker, Texas to her parents, C.C. and Allie Odle.
Mrs. Easterling worked for the Crossett Company and retired from Georgia Pacific after 35 years of service. She was a member of First Baptist Church.
Mrs. Easterling was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 63 years, James Byron Easterling; a sister, Vivian Taylor; a nephew, Charles Taylor; a niece, Martha Vastine; and two brothers-in-law, Felton Taylor and Arthur Vastine.
Survivors include one daughter, Becky Meadows, of Hot Springs; one sister, Allie Ruth Vastine, of Rogers; two grandchildren, Jack Meadows III (Sarah), of Hot Springs and Melissa Riley (Cooper), of Little Rock; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Easterling Riley, Rachel Park Riley, Sarah Cooper Riley and Ryder McCoy Meadows; two nephews, Lane Vastine (Sally), of Rogers, Doug Vastine (Karen), of Bentonville; a special family friend, Fannie Posey, of Crossett and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jones Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Pinewood Memorial Park.
Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday prior to service.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, 701 Main St., Crossett, AR 71635.
Pallbearers will be Jack Meadows III, Cooper Riley, Jack Meadows Jr., Lane Vastine, Doug Vastine and Bill Meadows.
