Bill Guthrie passed away Dec. 7, 2012, surrounded by his loving family in the comfort of his home. He was born March 9, 1939, in Cookson, Okla., to William and Bessie Guthrie, of Mountain Pine, both deceased. 

He is survived by his loving daughter, Vicki Pakis; son, Matt Guthrie and daughter-in-law, Melanie Guthrie; grandchildren, Jack and Olympia Pakis, Jared, Taylor, and Madeline Guthrie; sisters, Eunice Nail, Mary Guthrie; brothers, Paul and Tommy Guthrie and sister-in-law, Linda Guthrie; sister Sue Parker, deceased. 

Memorial services will be held at New Salem Methodist Church on Mountain Pine Road, Tuesday at 11 a.m. with a fellowship to follow the service.
