Anica Subarich
Anica Subarich, 82, of Hot Springs, passed away Monday, Jan. 7, 2013. She was born Jan. 24, 1930 in Bijeljina, Yugoslavia. Shortly after the war, she immigrated to the United States with her husband Milan Subarich where they lived in Chicago. Shortly after that she and her husband brought most of his family and her two sisters to the United States from Yugoslavia. She was a member of the Serbian Orthodox Church in Chicago until they moved the family to Hot Springs in 1978 where they raised their two sons Vlajko and Draza.
Anica is preceded in death by her husband and one sister, Stoja Cvijic.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Vlajko and Arlene Subarich, of Chula Vista, Calif., and Draza Subarich, of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Avana and Milan Subarich; nephews, Branislav Cvijic, Vaso Subaric, Milan Subaric, Ziko Subaric, Zivan Maximovic and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Branslav Cvijic, Rickie Furr, Kosta Tolich, Nemanja Stojanovic, Casey Huggs and Matthew Crawford.
Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. today at Gross Funeral Home.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Archangel Church with the Rev. Father Ljbomir Kirstic officiating. Burial will follow at St. Michael's Archangel Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Diane Bodemann, the staff of the Bodemann Clinic, J.O. Ross, Mark Bratten, Dr. Dhaval Patel and the nurses of Mercy Hospital 2 West and 5 East.
