Harry L. Thomas, 89, of Hot Springs, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013. He was born July 22, 1923, in Mobile, Ala., to Parker D. and Cora L. Thomas. Harry was a retired U.S. Army Master Sgt. serving 25 years during World War II and the Korean Conflict and was a Bronze Star recipient. He worked for the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers; and later retired from S&S Business Machine Co. He was a member of the BPOE Elks Lodge No. 380, a past member of the Lions Club and a member and deacon emeritus of First Christian Church.

He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, Juanita Thomas; a son, Harry L. Thomas Jr.; and two brothers.

Survivors include his companion of 12 years, Winnie Switzer; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael B. and Mary Thomas, of Huntsville and Saudi Arabia; a daughter and son-in-law, Suzanne and Tim Roseberry, of Supply, N.C.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church with the Rev. Steve Willis officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. at the church.

Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery with full military honors.
