Estelle J. Marney
GRAVETTE – Estelle Johnson Marney, 87, of Gravette, passed away on Jan. 21, 2013, in Bella Vista. She was born in Idabel, Okla., to Ruby Strahan and James Johnson on Oct. 12, 1925. She was married to the Rev. Samuel Allen Marney on May 16, 1948. She was employed as a licensed practical nurse for over 40 years, serving in Hot Springs at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Levi Hospital, as well as in private service. Estelle was a resident of Hot Springs for much of her life and moved to Gravette in 1994.
She is survived in death by her son, Allen (Pam) Marney, of Gravette and daughter, Belva Knight, of Munster, Ind. She is survived by grandchildren, Joy (Tom) Harder, of Phoenix, Johnny (Lisa) Knight, of Winfield, Ind., Denise (Mike) Walker, of Schererville, Ind., David Knight, of Schererville, Ind., Matthew (Wendy) Marney, of Fayetteville, Samuel (Annie) Marney, of Centerton, and Kathryn (Kyle) Britton, of Centerton. She is survived by 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and sister, Jackie Hunt, of Phoenix.
She is preceded in death by her husband.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Caruth-Hale Funeral Home.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Price Cemetery with the Rev. Samuel R. Marney officiating.
