Herbert F. Green
Herbert F. “Preacher” Green, 72, died Friday, Jan. 18, 2013.
He was born July 19, 1940, in Stamps, to Willie and Esther Foster Green. They preceded him in death as well as his brother, Booker T. Green and sister, Virgil Bickems. He was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church where he sang in the Male Choir. He was a former employee of Oaklawn Racetrack.
Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Rosie Green, of Hot Springs; eight sons, Mark (Cecilia) Willis, of Stephens, Ralph Robinson, of Lewisville, Charles Willis, Purnell (Felicia Easter) Green, Walter (Snythia) Green, Timothy Willis and Phil Green, all of Hot Springs, Jerry Seamster, of Stamps; three daughters, Linda Sattiwhite, of Stamps, Jackie (Raymond Patillo) and Rozeta “Muffin” Nevels, all of Hot Springs; one sister, Mary Taylor, of Stamps; 25 grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews and extended family.
A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at St. Mark Baptist Church with the Rev. Donald R. Crossley officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. today at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Home.
