Nancy D. Freeman, 48, born in Omaha, Neb., April 5, 1964, to John and Nelva Kelly, entered into the glory of her heavenly home on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2013.

She is survived by her children, Curtis Freeman, of Conway, Cameron Freeman, of Hot Springs, Courtney Freeman, of Hot Springs; and close family friend Ana Alvarez, of Hot Springs. She is also survived by her mother, Nelva Kelly, of Hot Springs; one brother, Dwayne Kelly, of San Antonio, Texas; and one sister, Delane Kelly, of Hot Springs. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Nancy devoted her life to her family and making lasting memories with them. She committed herself to loving and caring for them and letting them know they were the loves of her life. She loved to travel with them and enjoy the beauty of God’s glorious creation. She also loved her pets – having never met an animal she did not like. She also loved being outdoors planting and gardening.

She was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for more than 20 years. She also worked with the youth and shared the same love with them that she shared with her own children. She loved the Lord with all her heart and shared her love for Him with her children. She lovingly introduced them to the Lord by being a wonderful example of His divine love.

Nancy always wanted the best for others and was willing to make sacrifices for their benefit. She bravely battled her cancer by finding strength and encouragement from her children, the Lord, and her church family. Her life was truly an inspiration to all who knew her and she has left an amazing legacy for her family.

In lieu of flowers, a college scholarship fund for Courtney Freeman has been established through the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Please send contributions to the New Hope MBC, 1534 Shady Grove Road, Hot Springs, AR 71901.

A memorial service will celebrate Nancy’s life Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 1534 Shady Grove Road, Hot Springs.
