LITTLE ROCK —Greenland shattered Jessieville's state-title hopes, pulling away from the cold-shooting Lady Lions in the second half for a 59-32 win in the Class 3A girls championship game on Thursday at Barton Coliseum.

Claiming its second straight state crown, Greenland (21-13) handed Jessieville its first loss in 34 games. The Lady Pirates defeated Green Forest in last year's 3A final.

Greenland took advantage of 2-for-13 Lady Lions shooting in the second quarter to push a 12-10 lead to 23-15, then scored the third quarter's first eight points. The Lady Pirates took a 44-23 lead into the fourth quarter.

Jessieville made its first championship-game appearance since 2007, when it lost to Carlisle in the 2A final at Summit Arena.
