Eight graduates of Lake Hamilton High School recently participated in White Coat Ceremony in the College of Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. The annual event is a rite of passage for entering freshman designed to impress upon new students the vital importance of character, compassion and altruism in patient care, in addition to medical competence. Students in the class of 2018 recited the Medical Student Oath and were presented with their white coats, a symbol of purity emphasizing that physicians practice their art in uprightness and honor.
