Openings available for Hack Golf Tourney

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE — The Golf Department is still accepting sign-ups for its inaugural Nine & Dine Couples Hack Golf 9-hole Tournament on Sept. 3 at Coronado Golf Course.

There will be a 4 p.m. shotgun start with dinner following play.

“Hack Golf is an innovative idea that helps remove the intimidation factor from putting and makes the game more enjoyable by using a 15-inch cup. TaylorMade Golf, in an alliance with the PGA of America, is sponsoring a $5 million dollar initiative that helped us acquire the new 15-inch cups for occasional use here in Hot Springs Village,” a news release said.

This will be a two-person “net” scramble. All golfers must have an established handicap. Entry forms are available at the Coronado Pro Shop. The cost is $20 per team and includes dinner for both, and prize money for the winners. Greens Fees and Cart Fees are additional and will be paid on the day of the tournament.

Entries are limited to the first 30 teams. Entry forms, along with payment of the $20 entry fee, cash or check only, should be returned to the Coronado Pro Shop.
