Hickory Hill Park to host The Hackets

Hickory Hill Park in Hot Springs, will present a gospel music concert at 7 p.m. today featuring The Hacketts from Dermott.

The Hacketts were formed in 1996, and have produced many recordings over the years including, “Our Father’s Songs,” a compilation of all original songs. The group travels throughout Arkansasand surrounding states sharing their music ministry.

The vocals for this southern gospel family are provided by a father and his two daughters. Along with their family harmony, the group travels with a live band featuring guitars, drums and keyboard.

Also featured in the concert will be The Rawls from Hot Springs Village. Keith Rawls was born and raised in southern Arkansas. His wife, Diane Rawls, sings with him on occasion.

With her encouragement, at 58, Rawls made his singing debut, They have set their sights on a music ministry.

They are participants in the Branson Singer/Songwriter Association and sing in various venues statewide.

Hickory Hill Park has an outdoor amphitheater seating 500 guests with a wooden stage. Buddy’s Barnyard Café offers soft drinks, coffee, nachos, caramel apples and more. Restrooms available.

Parking and admission are free. Bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating in the amphitheater.

Concerts are held the fourth Saturday night each month, through September.

Directions to the park: from downtown Hot Springs turn right on Park Avenue at the fountain and drive approximately five miles. At the junction of Highway 7 north, turn left and travel approximately one mile, watch for the sign, and turn right on Bryant Road.
