Volunteers needed

Dear editor:

We are in need of individuals or teams who would like to volunteer the morning of Sept. 11, 2014, to help out with United Way's Day of Caring. Day of Caring is a day that is spent helping nonprofit agencies around the community with an assortment of projects, such as washing vehicles, landscape projects and painting projects.

The materials that are needed will be provided; all we need is able bodies willing to volunteer for a few hours. We will start at 8 a.m. with coffee and doughnuts at the Oaklawn Track Kitchen. Afterwards, the teams will disperse all across the county to complete their projects. At 11:30 a.m., lunch will be provided at the Farmer's Market for all who volunteered.

Six reasons you should volunteer:

  1. It is good for your health.

  2. Volunteering strengthens your community.

  3. Our nonprofits will inspire you.

  4. You get to hang out with amazing people.

  5. Every person makes a difference.

  6. Change won't happen without you.

If you are interested, please call 501-623-2505, or email [email protected].

Great things happen when we "Live united."
