Balanced Lakeside golfers edge White Hall

PINE BLUFF -- Lakeside's top four golfers shot within a stroke of each other, Cameron McRae's 36 leading the Rams to a six-stroke win over White Hall in a dual boys match Tuesday at Harbour Oaks.

Chandler Cain, Caleb Lloyd and Cade Freeland each shot 37 for Lakeside, finishing at 147. White Hall's Jake McNulty and David Norwood both shot 35 and teammate Grayson Acosta 37, but the Bulldogs' next finisher shot 44.

There was no girls match. Lakeside plays Conway today at Hot Springs Country Club.

Volleyball:

Hot Springs-Robinson

Despite losing two players to injuries, Hot Springs finished strongly in a four-set win over visiting Pulaski Robinson Wednesday night to continue a hot start to the season.

The Lady Trojans (3-0) lost Amber Peppers in the third set and Cameia Anderson in the fourth, but defeated Robinson 25-15, 22-25, 25-22 and 25-16 for their third victory in as many nights.

Peppers had five kills and Anderson seven digs and a kill before leaving the match. Jackie Hawkins led with seven digs and three kills.

Tuesday, Anderson and Desiree Cooper each had two kills in a 25-15, 25-27, 25-18, 25-20 win at Mountain Pine. Hailee Crosby had nine aces, Ellie Gaut three aces and Brooke Meeks two blocks for Mountain Pine, which won the junior-varsity (25-13. 25-20) and junior-high (25-13, 25-21) matches.

Mountain Pine plays Cutter Morning Star at home Tuesday. Hot Springs travels to Arkadelphia Sept. 4.

Volleyball:

Perryville-CMS

Perryville outlasted host Cutter Morning Star in the third set to complete a 25-14, 25-15, 25-21 sweep Tuesday night.

Emily Simmons had four kills and Kaley Cameron three for CMS. Michelle Porter served two aces.

The Lady Eagles play Lisa Academy today at UALR.

• Jessieville dropped a two-set match Tuesday at Malvern, 25-23, 25-13. The Lady Lions (0-2) opened Monday with a five-set home loss to Cabot, 25-12, 22-25, 19-25, 25-11, 15-8. Jessieville is home today against Arkadelphia.
