Brunson

U.S. Air National Guard Airman Ashford J. Brunson, son of Cathy S. and Dennis R. Brunson of Hot Springs, graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, San Antonio, Texas.

He completed an intensive, eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills. Those who complete basic training earn four credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Brunson is a graduate of Lakeside High School and earned an bachelor's degree in 2013 from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

Beavers

Col. Beverly A. Beavers, daughter of Jeffery Pawelczak of Hot Springs, has graduated from the U.S. Army War College at Carlisle Barracks, Carlisle, Pa., and earned a master's degree in strategic studies. The college is the Army's senior educational institution.

The 10-month curriculum of the Army's senior officer school is designed to prepare and train officers of all the U.S. military branches of service, foreign military officers, as well as senior civilian officials of federal agencies, to serve in top-level command and staff positions with the U.S. Armed Forces worldwide.

She is currently serving as Information Technology Strategic Sourcing Analyst, the Component Acquistion Executive with the Defense Health Headquarters, Defense Health Agency, Va. She has served in the military for 23 years.

Beavers is a 1987 graduate of Mount Ida High School and earned a bachelor's degree in 1991 from Pacific Lutheran University, Parkland, Wash.
