Opportunities for prayer

Dear editor:

What exciting times we are blessed to see come to our beautiful city, a city with such a great spiritual heritage, and chosen by God for His plan and purposes throughout all generations. Hot Springs, Ark., is so blessed and is a blessing in our nation.

The National Day of Prayer is a holiday honored and celebrated on the first Thursday of May every year. This year was the largest mobilization of prayer in the history of America. But the National Day of Prayer has become more than just a day that we come together to pray. All across our nation, Israel and other countries, the National Day of Prayer has become a source of hope, not only for America, but also hope for the world.

On Aug. 30, they will be celebrating a Supreme Day of Prayer in Washington, D.C. Then on Sept. 2, the Pray for America Tour launches with over 4,000 miles of prayer for our bus tours from the West Coast to the East Coast. This is the second annual tour. Last year, they toured 34 states and prayed for 101,000 people. There was also 24-hour prayer simulcasting. On Oct. 1-5, The Summons will be held in Hollywood. And there are other scheduled events pertaining to Israel and for the youths in America.

This brings us to the happening in our city on Nov. 1. Pastor Arthur Hunt Jr. is our Arkansas state coordinator for NDP Task Force. He has been with NDP for 12 years, and has been instrumental in honoring Hot Springs and Arkansas. Hot Springs was honored by NDP to be The Model City of Prayer, two years standing, with the vision of national leaders coming here to honor God, with people from across our nation. And now, it is going to happen. Pastor Happy Caldwell and VTN Television, and Joynetradio.com, streaming the services, are joining us as our official TV media partners.

Jim Maxim was the guest speaker at NDP this year and has been instrumental in bringing us together for monthly prayer gatherings. Each month we feel the momentum building and we see increase which will bring advancement to the Kingdom of God. We are grateful to him for his call to our city. And we have always been so grateful to our pastors for encouraging and supporting the National Day of Prayer in our city. Without their support, we would not be seeing what we are about to experience in our city. The NDP across the nation is declaring "Holy"wood, and Arkansas to be the "Super"natural State, with Jesus Christ the Living Water flowing across America from our city famous for its natural water. Monthly reports go out to NDP Task Forces to notify and verify progress. We just want to extend an invitation to all, so you may be planning Saturday, Nov. 1, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. 2014 Back to God: Day of Prayer, Purpose and Promise, Hot Springs Convention Center.
