Mountain Pine classes collect for community purposes

MOUNTAIN PINE -- Seventh- and eighth-grade students in Leslie Collier's classes at Mountain Pine High School have collected canned foods during the second nine weeks for Christmas baskets to be distributed locally.

During the first nine weeks, students collected soda tabs for the Angel Ali Foundation. Ali Vise was diagnosed in 2011 with Batten Disease, a fatal and inherited disorder of the nervous system that typically begins in childhood. The Angel Ali Foundation is devoted to finding and funding a cure.
