Library to host movie event

The Garland County Library will host a movie event in January. Admission and popcorn are free and attendees may bring refreshments as new releases and classics are screened in the Gordonelle Williams Hall Auditorium.

The Garland County Library will honor all guidelines put forth by the MPAA regarding movie ratings. No one younger than 17 will be allowed to view R-rated movies without an adult. Identification will be required.

Jan. 4

• 1:30 p.m. -- "A Most Wanted Man," 2014, thriller.

When a half-Chechen, half-Russian, brutally tortured immigrant turns up in Hamburg's Islamic community laying claim to his father's ill gotten fortune, both German and U.S. security agencies take a close interest. Starring Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rachel McAdams, and Daniel Bruhl. Rated R.

Jan. 11

• 1:30 p.m. -- "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," 2014, drama, sci-fi.

Ten years after a pandemic disease, surviving apes are drawn into battle with a group of human survivors. Starring Andy Serkis, Gary Oldman, and Jason Clarke. Rated PG-13.

Jan. 18

• 1:30 p.m. -- "Gone Girl," 2014, feature presentation, drama, mystery, thriller.

With his wife's disappearance having become the focus of an intense media circusDirected by David Fincher and starring Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, and Neil Patrick Harris.
