Firefighters from the Lake Hamilton and Morning Star fire departments battled a house fire at 150 Alanna Drive, at the intersection of Long Beach Drive, for about four hours Tuesday before it was extinguished. Doug Davey, Lake Hamilton Fire Department deputy chief, said the mobile home had multiple add-ons which made the fire difficult to fight and the home was a total loss. He said the owner and resident, Nicolle Berkley, was home when the fire started around 9:30 a.m., but escaped without injury. The cause of the fire is under investigation, Davey said. Also assisting at the scene were employees of LifeNet, Red Cross, Entergy and Garland County Sheriff's deputies.
