A glorious celebration

Friday night, July 11, was a glorious celebration of God's love which crossed denominational, racial and ethnic barriers. Over 800 people from our city and county gathered at the Convention Center to pray for all of the pastors in Garland County, and their families, as well as our civic leaders and people who had special needs.

It was so awesome to see and experience the power of love and unity ... Hot Springs Women of Prayer has been praying for 28 years to see this happen -- now Watchmen of Garland County (pastors) has taken up the mantel and WOW -- what a night of worship, prayer and fellowship. Mr. Jim Maxim, a businessman and entrepreneur from Philadelphia, was led (through a divinely orchestrated network) to come to Hot Springs and while here, God spoke to his heart that there was a special work God wanted to do in our community. He brought his worship team and rented Hall "D" at the Convention Center to especially encourage and pray for our pastors (our spiritual leaders), their families and many others who needed the power of God to set them free. Many pastors in our city joined together with Mr. Jim in prayer and preparation weekly "before" our gathering in order to do their part to make it happen -- it was truly a beautiful outpouring of love for God and each other.

Our thanks and God's blessings on all of you who worked and prayed so hard and gave of yourself so unselfishly. You were truly God's anointed servants. Thank you ... and may God bless all of you who attended! Your worship, prayers and fellowship were powerful, it was the beginning of our fulfillment of Jesus' last prayer: "that they may be one;" "that they may be perfect in one" (John 17:21-23). WOW -- our "maturing" (perfecting) process seems to depend on our "unity" -- our "oneness" (and it's happening) all glory to God! Surely the Lord must have been pleased to see His prayer being answered; that is, that all of His children would be "His family," loving and serving Him together. "May His Kingdom come (in Garland County) and His will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven."

I end with "good news" -- there will be another gathering at the Convention Center next month, Aug. 22! I pray that you will come so that "together" we can "bless the Lord" with our "unity" and love for each other. Love to all, blessings to all ... rejoice ... love never fails.
