HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- Hot Springs Village Audubon Society members hosted a potluck dinner in honor of their Halberg Ecology scholarship students, Marisa Henry, Jaxson Hawkins, Hannah Bearden and advanced camper Morgan McDaniel. Other campers from Mountain Pine School in attendance were Greg Irwin, Shalayla Delaney, Zoe McGregor and Lakyn Lewondowski.

After dinner, members and the campers' families watched the videos of the first and second sessions of the Halberg Ecology Camp. Then each camper spoke about their experiences during their week. McDaniel told not only of her experiences, but also how different the Johnson Advanced Camp was for the Halberg Ecology Camp. Being able to canoe on the Buffalo River, explore a wild cave and learn more about trees, plants and insects were only some of the differences McDaniel spoke about. The campers participated in a bird ID game and the winners, Bearden and McGreger, received bird books while the other campers received wind chimes.

Thirty-five Audubon members donated food and helped set up and clean up, Andrea Mueller chaired the potluck, Diane Condon was coordinator of the bird ID game, Richard Kroetz presented the video, and Josie Farrell and Teri LaBove are the scholarship chairs.
