Ortiz, Red Sox cool off Rays

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- David Ortiz hit a three-run homer, and the Boston Red Sox beat Tampa Bay 3-2 Sunday to end a five-game losing streak and stop the Rays' longest winning streak in 10 years at nine games.

Hector Santiago and three Angels relievers combined on a three hitter as Detroit managed just one hit in its final 25 at-bats, getting just one baserunner after the first inning.
