Dear editor: Extreme opinions are to blame

Dear editor:

It seems as if Larry Bauer submits his outrageous opinions trying to elicit a response. He has figured out the Democrats are to blame for all that is wrong in society and if the Republicans were in charge, we would live in a better world. Since the Dems are to blame for the rise in violence in the world, are they also to blame for the Dow reaching record high levels after bottoming out during the previous administration?

Extreme opinions on both sides are really what is to blame. They point fingers at each other and refuse to negotiate or compromise. Most of us in the middle are growing tired of the theatrics. We are all in this together and we cannot force all of our ideas and opinions on others. There is a difference between respecting someone's right to voice their opinion and actually respecting it or even listening. A recent letter commented about some people liking vanilla and some liking chocolate. Perhaps they should try the swirl. They may be surprised.

Lastly, lets address Larry's quote "Stay out de Democrats." He states that this is "language even Jesse Jackson can understand." Are you kidding me? Attitudes like that are part of the problem, not part of the solution.
