The spring of 2014 brought with it the birth of a new generation of yoga teacher training in Central Arkansas. The Prema School of Yoga is a Registered Yoga School (RYS 200) offering 200 hours of yoga teacher training for students of yoga aspiring to take the next step to become teachers. Training for the 2014-2015 year begins in September in Hot Springs at Whittington Place, just off Central Avenue downtown.

Yoga students who wish to become Registered Yoga Teachers through Yoga Alliance are encouraged to apply for enrollment whether they desire to teach community classes or simply deepen their personal yoga practice. Instructors at the Prema School of Yoga come to the program from distinctly different backgrounds and bring a wide spectrum of experience to the curriculum. With the mission of helping yoga students transform their love of practicing yoga into a love of teaching yoga, the teaching staff at Prema collaborates as a team to combine individual talents for a well-rounded learning experience.

Lead instructor is Karen Reeves of The Yoga Place in Hot Springs and Grace Full Yoga in Bryant. Staff instructors are Sharon Stickney, also of The Yoga Place, Angela Gattin and Leigha Jones of Yoga For The Road in Benton, and Suzanne Kennemer, a certified herbalist with Grace Full Yoga. They look forward to bringing a fresh perspective and a modern approach to the challenge of becoming a yoga teacher.

"Prema means unconditional love, " the press release said, "so while the first step may be a big one there are willing hands and warm hearts standing by for support."

For enrollment information, tuition costs, and training schedule visit the Web site or find the Prema School on Facebook. Onsite lodging at Whittington Place will also be available for students during training if needed. Enrollment is open and prospective students may conveniently apply online.
