ARKADELPHIA -- The fall term at Henderson State University began Aug. 25 with 33 new faculty members and administrative staff.

"I am delighted to welcome our new faculty to Henderson this year and am proud that they so clearly support our long tradition of a fine and superior faculty," said Stephen Adkison, provost and vice president for academic affairs.

"I was deeply impressed during our new faculty workshop with the range of experience and expertise our new faculty brings to our students and our Henderson community."

New faculty members at the School of Business are Jennifer Zarzosa, assistant professor of marketing; Kelli Hernandez, instructor of management; David Rodriguez, assistant professor of finance; Roslyn Roberts, assistant professor of accounting; Debbie Francis, instructor of marketing; and Dixon Cooper, lecturer of accounting.

New faculty at the Teachers College are Matthew Sutherlin, assistant professor of teacher education and chair of curriculum and instruction; Mark Mosser, assistant professor of physical education and health; Margaret Tudor, assistant professor of sports management; January Schultz, assistant professor of physical education and health; and Kevin Riley, assistant professor of recreation.

The new faculty members at the Ellis College of Arts and Sciences are Darrel Farmer, assistant professor of communications; Bradley Rowland, assistant professor of chemistry; Wyatt Christian-Carpenter, instructor of mathematics; Margarita Peraza, lecturer of Spanish; Amy Laursen, lecturer of music; Jennifer Amox, lecturer of music; John Gillette, instructor of English and director of the Writing Center; Nikol Hamilton, lecturer of nursing; Margo Duvall, assistant professor of photography; Nydia Jeffers, assistant professor of Spanish; Jennifer Adkison, associate professor of English; Emilie Beltzer, assistant professor of psychology; Bill Sutley, assistant professor of mass media communication; Kasten Searles, assistant professor of graphic and media design; Victoria Ellison, instructor of communications; and Melanie Wilson, instructor of English/teacher education liaison.

New to the administrative staff are Stephen Adkison, provost and vice president for academic affairs; Christina Batts, director of Hot Springs Academic Initiatives; Chelsea Goza, training coordinator/business consultant for ASBTDC; Jocelyn Gordon, instructor and clinical education coordinator for ATP; Sheri Phillips, career development coordinator; and William Maass, staff athletic trainer.
