Ballot initiatives discussed

at GCDCC meeting

State Rep. John T. Vines, District 25, will speak at the Garland County Democratic Central Committee meeting at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday in the board room of Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, 200 Whittington Ave. He will lead a discussion on the three ballot initiatives referred to voters as "Notice For Amendments Referred to the People by the Arkansas General Assembly."

Regular order of business will be conducted. All interested in Democratic issues are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Turtle Island HoH

Katherine Burton Jones has been appointed to the board of directors of Turtle Island Hall of Honor, as announced by Dr. Bob McFarlin. She is the assistant director and research adviser, ALM in Museum Studies, at the Harvard Extension School in Boston.

Jones is the principal in the consulting firm, Katherine Jones Consulting. She provides strategic planning including strategic technology planning to the higher ed and nonprofit sectors. She consults for a number of museums in New England and in the Northeast. She is a member of the Board of Directors and chairs the Museum Committee of the International Tennis Hall of Fame and Museum in Newport, R.I. She is a member of the Board of the Metropolitan Waterworks Museum in Chestnut Hill, Mass.

Jones is the editor of and contributor to two books on the use of technology in museums and has authored articles on topics related to museums and given presentations as national and regional museum conferences for the last two decades.
