Elks host Razorback vs. N. Illinois Huskies tailgate

Hot Springs Elks Lodge 380, 132 Abbott Place, will have a Razorback football tailgate party at 5 p.m. today in the lounge. Bring a few friends and come watch the game. There will be a new menu to order from.

Stress reduction, addiction recovery class

An free introduction to mindfulness-based approaches to stress reduction and addictions recovery class will meet from 6-7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Room B at Garland County Library, 1427 Malvern Ave. It will include lecture, guided meditations, question and answer, and handouts.

Why not make a wise investment in today's youths as they are the future, right? Mentoring is one of the best and lasting gifts that you can give to a child.

Garland County has five known mentoring program, YMCA (Reach and Rise), Men Mentoring Young Minorities, Life House Ministries, Ouachita Children's Center (Dare To Dream) and Visitor's Chapel AME Church (Boys to Men). Each individual agency has one sole purpose which is to help children succeed and have a positive opportunity.
