Dear editor:
I just want to express my heartfelt thanks to our family and friends for the many ways you have supported me during the illness and passing of my husband, Don Grisham.
Don first reported sports for the Arkansas Gazette while attending Henderson State Teachers College (now HSU). Later he covered sports for the Arkansas Democrat, The Sentinel-Record and finished his career as a feature columnist with the Daily Racing Form. Don loved writing about sports and especially thoroughbred racing.
A special thanks to Charles Cella, Eric Jackson, Terry Wallace and Don's "Oaklawn Park family." Oaklawn is where Don developed his great love of thoroughbred racing as a very young boy and was welcomed home to continue his association with the industry upon his retirement from the Racing Form.
Also, special thanks to Bob Wisener and The Sentinel-Record for the excellent coverage and stories about Don and his outstanding career.
An ocean of thanks to Lake Hamilton Health and Rehabilitation for the superior support and compassion they gave to "Mr. Don."
I am truly grateful to all for your love and support.
