Treasure Hunt a success

Dear editor:

The Great Treasure Hunt on Park Avenue was a huge success. Thank you so much to the following merchants who made such generous donations: A Moment in Time Studio Photography, Alpine Inn, Bailey's Dairy Treat, Big A Liquor, DeLuca's Pizzeria Napoletana, Hot Springs Firehouse No. 3, Hot Springy Dingy, Kenneth's Hair Salon, Low Key Arts, Maxwell Blade, Next Level BBQ - Louis Williams Caterer and Arkansas Times Writer, One Stop Auto, Park Avenue Bistro (Bohemia), Park Island Market & Cafe, Redbeard's Tattoos, Superior Bathhouse Brewery, Swan Song Spa, The Pancake Shop, Taqueria El Amigo, Wayne and Kelly Thomason -- Hot Springs Realty.

Nearly $1,000 in prizes were given and the participants had so much fun, they wanted to know when we were going to do it again! We'll plan another one next year.

Next on the SummerFest agenda is the Great Park Avenue BBQ Cookoff -- scheduled Oct. 11 on Park Avenue. This is an open competition -- please get your friends together -- or showcase your restaurant. We'll have several judging categories and you'll want to make sure you get your vote in. We are also welcoming vendors to sell their wares: jewelry, candles, antiques, clothing, household items, etc. Entry forms can be obtained by calling Hannah, 501-282-1872; Louis, 501-760-8020; or Kelly at 501-538-4370.

Bring your lawn chairs -- after the judging, the cooks will be selling their fabulous BBQ, we'll have some music and continue to enjoy the day until about 6 p.m.

This will be our last SummerFest event for 2014 -- Don't miss out!
