HSV Computer Club

to discuss cloud services

The September meeting of the Computer Club of Hot Springs Village will feature a program about cloud computing services.

The meeting will be held from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Coronado Center auditorium. The public is welcome.

"If you are disconcerted when people talk about the cloud, if you are unsure what a cloud app is, or if you want to understand how to use the cloud, then this month's program is for you," said Larry Wilson, who will cover all the basics and answer any questions.

The program will center on using the cloud to store and share information. There will be information on cloud providers, differences in their products, and the various Internet applications available.

Also at this meeting, Computer Club members will vote on an amendment of the bylaws to allow membership regardless of residency status.

Kirk Choir to hold

parking lot sale Oct. 3

The Kirk Choir's Parking Lot Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 behind Hoffius Hall at Presbyterian Kirk in the Pines, 275 Asturias Drive.

Proceeds from the sale will help choir members with fees that are paid to Lincoln Center when the choir performs in New York City during the May 2015 Memorial Day weekend.

The sale will include three categories -- baked goods, crafts, and treasures. Treasures include household items, tools, furniture, books, and "gently-used" clothing. The choir intends to give all leftovers to charity except craft items, which will be returned to the artisans.

Choir members will set up the sale on Oct. 2, and donors may drop off items at the church at that time. Members appreciate all those who have already offered help and support. They will also sell coffee and refreshments.
