Alcoholics Anonymous, Rockhouse, will meet at 11 a.m. today for a closed discussion Jessieville Women's Group at Jessieville Fellowship Hall, 7415 N. Highway 7, four miles north of Hot Springs Village gate. At 6 p.m., there will be a potluck followed with a speaker at 7 p.m.

Thrift stores

Humane Society of Garland County Thrift Store, 2026 Central Ave., in the Freeman Center, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. Donations of gently worn, clean clothing and shoes, jewelry, purses, antiques, home decor, household items, books and nonupholstered furniture in good condition are accepted. All proceeds contribute to the care, veterinarian fees and shelter for dogs and cats at the kennel facilities at 1249 Ault Loop, Lonsdale. Donations of dog and cat food and other miscellaneous pet supplies may be dropped off at the store. Free low-cost spay and neuter vouchers are available at the store. Abilities Unlimited Thrift Store, 1819 Albert Pike, is open from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday. It has a selection of clothing for men, women, children and plus sizes; shoes, household items and furniture are available. Tax-deductible donations are accepted from 8:30-4 p.m. at the back door; or call 624-5757 for free pickup of donations.

The Salvation Army Family Store, 109 Crescent St., has gently worn men's, women's and children's clothing, plus a selection of household items. The store is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Call 623-1641 for tax deductible pickup of good, quality items.

Habitat ReStore, 350 Malvern Ave., Hot Springs, and 3825 N. Highway 7, Hot Springs Village, is open from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday-Saturday. All profits go to Garland County Habitat for Humanity in order to build houses. HGH Thrift Store, 423 Hobson Ave., is open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.

RPM Thrift Store, 815 Albert Pike, is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Articles include household items, appliances, furniture, TVs, women's accessories, toys and more. Items donated are tax deductible. Proceeds benefit Recovery Point Ministry, a faith-based, nonprofit organization which provides a nurturing environment to help women step out of their pain from destructive habits and begin to rebuild their lives through the life-changing power of Jesus Christ.

Haven United Methodist Thrift Store, 645 Park Ave., is open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays.

Safe Haven Shelter For Women and Children Thrift Shop, 3907 Central Ave., near Weldon's Meat Market in South Park Shopping Center, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Items include clothing for women, men and children, and household goods. Donations are welcome.

Helping Hands of Bismarck, 6804 Highway 7, is a community emergency assistance organization for those in the Bismarck School District which operates a thrift store from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays. Donations are welcome. Call 501-865-2949 or email [email protected] for information.

United Methodist Thrift Store, 304 Albert Pike, is open from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. Tuesday-Friday and 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday and Saturday. The store stocks men's, women's and children's clothing and accessories, household items, fabric and books (in good condition). Clean, usable donations of clothes, housewares and small furniture are appreciated. Proceeds are used to assist needy families in Garland County.

Jackson House Thrift Shop Too, 723 Albert Pike, is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday-Saturday. Accepting donations of clean gently worn clothing, accessories, jewelry, good reusable household items, small appliances and furniture. All donations are tax-deductible. Humane Society of Garland County pet adoption is held from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays at Petco, in Cornerstone Shopping Center. All dogs and cats are neutered, up-to-date on shots and deemed healthy. To volunteer to help with adopt-a-thons, transporting dogs, humane investigations, education programs, Walk-A-Dog project or at the thrift store, call 623-5012. The kennel, at 1249 Ault Loop, Lonsdale, off Highway 128 east of Hot Springs Village, is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. HSGC is a limited intake "no kill" facility which is donation-funded only and receives no tax funding. It offers programs such as Humane Education and Dog Bite Prevention to any local youth group, school, church or civic organization.

Mountain Valley Sportsman's Association holds International Defensive Pistol Association matches at 9 a.m. on the second Saturday and U.S. Practical Pistol Association matches at 10 a.m. the fourth Saturday of each month. Rimfire matches are held on various Sunday afternoons. Trap and Skeet fields are open at 9 a.m. Saturdays; and 1 p.m. Sundays and Tuesdays. Cowboy Action matches are the first Saturday. Civilian marksmanship matches are the third Saturday. All are held at Valley Range. From the intersection of Highway 70 east and Millcreek Road, take Millcreek and drive 6.5 miles to the gravel pit, turn right on the dirt road, go 1.9 mile to the range.
