Dear editor:
I noted with interest that there were several letters in the Sunday paper that expressed compassion and were filled with facts. George Lindholm, Charlie Lange, Karen Malone and Leslie Morrison all presented thoughtful and insightful letters. I always appreciate it when factual information and kindness are displayed.
It was fortunate that I read these letters first, because the comments of Mr. Spencer criticizing George Lindholm exhibited views that were disturbing, to say the least. George Lindholm exhibits a view that, in my opinion, reflects a Christian perspective that is indicative of a kind, compassionate and well-informed person. His analysis of events and situations is based on facts, and when he expresses an opinion, that is clear as well. I have never known him to present a position that was not in keeping with the great American traditions of fairness, compassion and justice.
Mr. Spencer, on the other hand, has supported denying freedom to some segments of society, and taken other extremist positions. He is hardly in a position to criticize anyone.
