John McCallum, pastor of First Baptist Church, Hot Springs, will sign copies of his book "How the Lord Sent Christmas" at the First Baptist Church Family Life Center, 2350 Central Ave., from 4-5:30 p.m. Sunday. The book is an imaginative, poetic retelling of the Christmas story in a "Dr. Seuss-ical" way that is meant to surprise and delight children and adults. McCallum hopes readers find the book a non-threatening way to share the Christmas story with their non-Christian friends. The church encouraged McCallum to publish his story after he first shared it with his congregation during Christmas 2013. Published by Crossbooks, it can be purchased by various online retailers.
