St. Phillips COGIC

celebrate pastor, wife

St. Phillips Church of God in Christ, 237 Walnut St., will hold an anniversary celebration at 3 p.m. Sunday in honor of pastor Richard Harper and first lady Pearl Harper for their four years of dedicated service in ministry. The theme is "Faithful Leaders Standing on God's Word." Superintendent Leroy Williams, pastor of Tate Temple COGIC in Arkadelphia, will be the guest speaker.

Roanoke Baptist

holds Ushers Day

Roanoke Baptist Church, 315 Whittington Ave., will hold its annual Ushers Day at 3 p.m. Sunday. The guest church will be Greater New Hope Baptist Church, Malvern. The Rev. J.O.T. Lea will present the message. The theme for the event will be "Christ's Servant." Roanoke Baptist and Greater New Hope Baptist church choirs will provide the music.

Visitor's Chapel hosts

'Showers of Blessings'

The Lay Organization of Visitor's Chapel AME, 319 Church St., will host a "Showers of Blessings Afternoon Affair" at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. The guest speaker will be first lady LaQuilla Jones, of Garrett Chapel Baptist Church, Hope. Union Missionary Baptist Church will provide praise presentations. A soup and salad tea repast will follow.

St. Mark Baptist to observe Youth Day

St. Mark Baptist Church, 542 Crescent, will observe its annual Youth Day during the 11 a.m. Sunday service.

Shirer simulcast at National Park Church

National Park Church, 320 Lakeshore Drive, will host a simulcast with women's author and speaker Priscilla Shirer from 9 a.m. to 4:35 p.m. April 25. It will be a day of praise and worship. The event is free, but spots are limited. Registration is online at http://www.nationalparkchurch.org. Snacks will be provided, but participants will be responsible for their own lunches.
