City Plumbing 'gives back' to KUHS

City Plumbing Heating & Electric announced that the February recipient of its monthly Giving Back to the Community campaign is KUHS 97.9 FM Community Radio. KUHS received $1,150 to bring KUHS one step closer to broadcasting a community voice.

The KUHS Hot Springs Community Radio project began in May 2014, and has nearly raised all funding needed to put the radio station on-air. KUHS-LP 97.9FM will present a wide range of programs designed to inspire, inform and engage the community of Hot Springs from its point of broadcast on West Mountain. Studios will be located on Ouachita Avenue across from the new Henderson State University campus.

Programming will be created locally, from music shows to talk radio, and Internet streaming will allow KUHS to reach a global audience. Partnerships with local organizations, such as the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences and the Arts, Hot Springs Jazz Society, Spa City Blues Society, Hot Springs Music Festival, Hot Springs Advertising and Promotion Commission, and Garland County Library, will reflect the diverse interests in the area. City Plumbing, Heating & Electric is helping fund the Arbor Day educational event for area fifth-graders as its April "Giving Back to the Community" donation.
