Hot Springs Carousel Readers' Theater entertains audiences with performances emphasizing humor and enthusiasm. The group is unique in that actors remain behind music stands, acting out characters using facial expressions, voice and gestures. There is limited memorization since actors have scripts in front of them. People of all ages interested in theatrical study and performance are welcome to attend meetings from 10:30 a.m. to noon Fridays at Garland County Library. All Things Fibers meets from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesdays at The Fine Arts Center of Hot Springs, 626 Central Ave. This week will be quilt documentation and creative labels, lecture and slides. Fiber artists and beginners are welcome to join this group to knit, crochet, spin, weave or hand-sew. The group is supportive and participants help each other learn new techniques. Ouachita Mountain Hiking Club will hike at Mount Magazine State Park on Thursday. The Rim Trail, a hike around the top of the mountain, is a 10-mile, moderate route.
