Texas firm reportedly high bidder for HS Mall

A Houston, Texas, real estate investment firm was reportedly the high bidder during the June auction of Hot Springs Mall.

Jim Fram, CEO and president of The Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce and Hot Springs Metro Partnership, said Friday he could not comment on the mall's status due to nondisclosure agreements.

When contacted by The Sentinel-Record Friday afternoon, an employee of the investment firm would not confirm or deny the acquisition, but said "right now we can't say anything," and "we'll be glad to talk to you if it does come about."

The mall was built in 1980 and managed by Aronov Realty Management since 1982. Spinoso Real Estate Group was appointed receiver and managing and leasing agent in December.

The Dillard's department store at the mall was not included in the sale.
