Woman charged with forgery

A 39-year-old Hot Springs woman was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree forgery, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and theft by receiving, a misdemeanor punishable by up to a year in jail.

Kimberly M. Keefe, who listed a 1019 Crystal Hill Road address, remained in custody Thursday in lieu of bonds totaling $4,500. She is due in Garland County District Court March 10.

Officer Chadick responded to Arvest Bank, 1500 Albert Pike Road, Wednesday in reference to a female identified as Keefe, alias Kimberly Bakke, attempting to cash a stolen check. Chadick made contact with the bank manager who stated the check, written for $100, was reported stolen.

The checks were reported stolen to the Hot Springs Police Department Tuesday and the account holder stated she did not know Keefe.
