Submitted photo ABSTRACT GEOMETRY: The wood sculpture "Circular Rhythm" will be one work by Robyn Horn featured during her March solo exhibition at Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827-A Central Ave. The show will be on display Friday through March 31.

Justus Fine Art Gallery, 827-A Central Ave., will feature a solo exhibition of Robyn Horn's wood sculptures and mixed media paintings during the month of March.

The show will open with a reception from 5-9 p.m. Friday, in conjunction with Hot Springs Gallery Walk. Horn will give a brief gallery talk at 6:30 p.m. that evening. The exhibit will be on display through March 31.

Horn said in a news release that she is "drawn to abstract, geometric sculpture -- the volume of it, the form, the textures, the negative spaces. I am obsessed with tension and movement, the gestural qualities of sculpture. I am influenced by the nature of the material and its resistance to being changed."

Horn's work has been collected and exhibited by museums and galleries throughout the nation and abroad. Public collections are in locations including The National Museum of American Art, Renwick Gallery, Washington, D.C.; Museum of Arts and Design, New York, N.Y.; Victoria and Albert Museum, London, England; Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, Mass.; Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, Texas; White House Collection of American Crafts, Clinton Library, Little Rock; Wood Turning Center, Philadelphia, Pa.

Horn has received numerous awards and recognition for her contributions to the art form and leadership in establishing Collectors of Wood Art. As founder of the organization, she serves as president of its board of directors. She is also a member of the Advisory Committee for the San Francisco Museum of Craft and Design, San Francisco, and of the Wharton Esherick Museum in Paoli, Pa.

She is an honorary board member for the Smithsonian Institution's Renwick Gallery and a member of the Collections Committee of the Museum of Art and Design, New York. Awards include the Aileen Osborne Webb Award for Philanthropy from the American Craft Council in New York, Hendrix Odyssey Award in Artistic Creativity from Hendrix College, Conway, Craft Organizations Development Association Award for Leadership, Creative Thinking and Outstanding Service, Winthrop Rockefeller Memorial Award from the Arkansas Arts Center, Little Rock, and the Living Treasure Award from the Department of Arkansas Heritage.

Horn was born in Fort Smith. She earned her bachelor of arts degree from Hendrix College and now resides with her husband, John, in Little Rock.
