POA to operate Coronado Boat Slips, DeSoto Marina

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE -- The Hot Springs Village Property Owners' Association will take over the operation and management of DeSoto Marina and Lake Coronado Boat Slips within 90 days, according to a POA news release.

DeSoto Marina and Lake Coronado Boat Slips, which are currently under a commercial lease agreement with K & L Marine, will be brought into the POA's internal operations by April 6. Assuming management of the facilities will provide the opportunity to add value to the properties by further developing recreational amenities, services and opportunities, the release said.

The facilities, which are owned by the POA, have been leased out for several years. The terms of the current lease agreement does not provide any revenue to the POA, but the POA is responsible for all major maintenance.

In February 2013, the POA completed repairs of the decking and renovation of the docks at both facilities at a cost of $86,500.

Under POA management, DeSoto Marina will continue to operate as a full-service marina, including boat-slip rentals. Basecamp activities, such as kayak, canoe, paddleboard and other rentals, will also be operated out of the marina.
