Hot Springs Country Club will be the location of the United States Daughters of 1812 101st Arkansas State Council on Feb. 26 with the Baseline-Meridian as the hostess chapter. Wade Derden will be the featured speaker.
Arkansas State Society USD 1812 was organized in 1906 and chartered in 1908. The first state council was held in 1914 with Katherine Braddock Barrow as the first state president.
Feb. 18 will be the conclusion of the bicentennial of the War of 1812 and bicentennial members, members admitted to USD 1812 between 2012 and 2015, will be installed at the state council. For information, call Sheila Beatty, 501-915-0456.
