Low Key to host Cultural Alliance networking event

The Hot Springs Area Cultural Alliance will hold its quarterly Hot Springs arts networking meeting at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday in the Low Key Arts building, 118 Arbor St.

Area arts organizations and artists are welcome to participate and share information about upcoming events with others in the arts community. The meeting will offer the opportunity to make contacts, help inspire communication, and collaborate within the Hot Springs arts community.

After networking, a presentation by KUHS 97.9 will be at 6 p.m.

Cultural Alliance members will follow with a brief talk on the upcoming Arts and the Park, which will run from May 1-10. The event will consist of a gallery walk, studio tours, and performances and workshops from a variety of artists and organizations. All of the activities are taking place as part of an initiative to promote the arts and culture in the Spa City.

HSACA will also debut its website, http://www.hotspringsarts.org, at the networking event. Alliance member Mary Neilson said the website will enable those involved in the local arts community to share their information with others, have a calendar of local cultural events, and enable supporters to sign up to volunteer or make contributions.

The meeting is set to last about 90 minutes, with approximately 50 people expected to attend.

Organizations, artists and others wishing to share information about their upcoming happenings are asked to send logos and brief write-ups of the events to [email protected] by Monday. Slides will be shown during the networking event to promote future goings-on. Attendees should bring their organizations' brochures or handouts.

RSVP to [email protected] for placement on the networking list that will be distributed at the meeting.
