Officers installed at local CG auxiliary flotilla

Division Cmdr. Phillip K. Hunkins, of Fairfield Bay, installed the 2015 officer at a recent meeting of Hot Springs Coast Guard Auxiliary Flotilla 15-07. The new slate includes Jack Thorp, flotilla commander, member training and public education; Phil McAdams, vice flotilla commander and human resources; Drew Fram, communications services; Janet Kelley, finance officer and information services; Chelsy Jackson, secretary; Nick Flannery materials officer; David Keyser, operations officer and vessel examinations; Wanda Thorp, public affairs; and Shane Hardin, program visitor.

Jack Thorp emphasized the importance of educating the boating community with safe boating practices and the need for the public to take the free boating safety classes in the press release. He stressed the importance of boaters taking advantage of the free vessel examinations to assure those on the water are as safe as possible.

Meetings are held at 6 p.m. the first Monday of each month at the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary station, 4928 Albert Pike Road.
