State party chair to speak to Democrats

Vincent Insalaco, chairman of the Democratic Party of Arkansas, will be guest speaker at the Brown Bag Lunch at noon Monday at Garland County Democratic Headquarters, 608 W. Grand Ave.

Insalaco, of North Little Rock, served as the president for Young Democrats of Arkansas in the early 1980s. He has worked on campaigns for local, state and national office throughout the years and received the Ed Fry Democrat of the Year award for his years of service to improve communities and to mentor young Democrats.

A continuing series of informative discussions or speakers will take place on a regular basis on Mondays. For more information, call 624-0300 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Self-defense class offered at QCC

A self-defense class will be offered at Quapaw Community Center, 500 Quapaw Ave., starting Feb. 2. Learn how to confidently deal with conflicts involving different types of weapons, unarmed altercations and threat resolution tactics.

This class is designed for close range defense and is practical for all ages and skill sets. Class size will be limited. Please contact by text or call 501-276-0485 or email [email protected] for more information.

Emblem variety show tickets on sale

Tickets are on sale for Emblem Club's 25th anniversary variety show. "Live in Reno" will start at 6 p.m. Feb. 21 for dinner followed at 7 p.m. with the show; and at 1 p.m. Feb. 22 for lunch with the show at 2 p.m.
