UA women struggle away

GAINESVILLE, Fla. -- Arkansas' shooting problems followed the Razorback women across state lines on the second leg of a Southeastern Conference road trip.

Arkansas' two leading scorers were blanked for the first 11 minutes of Sunday's 72-58 loss to Florida at O'Connell Center. This came on the heels of Thursday's 55-53 loss at Vanderbilt, when Arkansas missed its last 18 shots from the field and blew a 12-point lead in the last 10 minutes.

Arkansas fell to 11-8 overall, 1-6 in the SEC, while Florida improved to 10-10 and 2-5, respectively.

Sophomore Kelsey Brooks led the Arkansas scoring with 14 points, though she and Jessica Jackson (11 points) started slowly. Melissa Wolff added 12 points, Jhasmin Bowen nine and Calli Berna eight with seven assists for Arkansas.

Florida led 41-24 at halftime, shooting 53.1 percent from the floor while outrebounding Arkansas 19-12 and forcing 12 turnovers. The Razorbacks finished 20-for-55 shooting (36.4 percent) and were outboarded 41-33.
